Cooperatief IMI Europe investing EUR 30 million in car part production in Nis – Jobs for 1,500 workers
Bulatovic said that the Dutch company would invest more than EUR 30 million in the construction of the facility and employ 1,500 workers in a ten-year period, of which 30% highly qualified. He added that the location had not yet been selected, but that the decision would be made shortly.
Erik De Candido emphasized that the company intended to build a 20,000 square meter facility for the production of car components. As he said, the facility will be the company’s production center for Central Europe.
– Qualified workforce and dedication of local and central government to the project are some of the reasons why we have decided to build the facility in Nis – De Candido said.
According to him, the company’s management made the decision following nine months of research.
– We have also chosen Nis due to the presence of other car industry companies and good cooperation between central and local governments – De Candido said.
Minister of Economy Goran Knezevic wished for the Dutch investor to lay down the founding stone as soon as early 2017 and to open the facility soon thereafter.
– The state will provide legal and financial aid to the company. They will receive considerable funds for putting the Nis facility into operation – Knezevic emphasized.
He said that the Government of Serbia wished to bring back Nis its old glory by providing it with all the help it needed.
