The first Smart City Challenge for IT entrepreneurs – Application deadline August 25

BEUM is organizing the first competition in Serbia for finding the app-based solutions for improving the quality of life in urban areas in terms of ecology, traffic, transport, travel and shopping, under the general sponsorship of Telenor Serbia, with the support of Friedrich Naumann Foundation and ICT Hub.

The top ten teams which pass the first round will enter the eight-month training and mentorship program at ICT Hub, where, in addition to learning how to initiate and run a startup, they will learn about the topic of smart cities and the IoT and get an opportunity to connect with the most eminent regional experts in these fields, as well as access to the legal, PR and HR support throughout the program.

The best three teams, as chosen by the expert jury, will gain access to a special monetary fund for further development of the best solutions in the amount of EUR 10,000 and will be provided with a workspace for the entire team at ICT Hub for three months, whereas the highest placed team will also be sent on a two-week study tour abroad and a visit to one of the world's technological incubators.

Telenor Smart City Challenge Serbia aims to inspire a new generation of talented Serbian programmers and IT entrepreneurs by helping them develop their ideas for improving the quality of life in the cities of Serbia, as well as to initiate an active discussion about the concept of smart cities.
