Croatian Energomobil builds the first solar bus stop – Arabs already interested
The lowest price of such a stop is HRK 25,500 (EUR 3,390) plus VAT, which is, as Energomobil claims, very affordable, considering its energy independence.
The stop is entirely made of steel, the seats are made of high-pressure laminate (material resistant to all weather conditions), the shelter is made of solar panels and the background of the stop is made of tempered glass.
As the director of Energomobil Marija Mrvelj points out, immediately following the first public presentations of solar bus stops, many have shown interest in them, including foreign clients.
- We have been contacted by the United Arab Emirates, which have presented our bus stop to their Ministry of Transport, and they are interested in installing them in Abu Dhabi – she said and added that they had also received calls from Egypt, Greece and many African countries.
- There's interest from all sides, since there are few such products on the market for now and those few are usually very expensive – stated Mrvelj.
It all began, she added, by opening the company for importing and exporting products related to renewable energy sources.
- Six year ago we ventured there with a firm belief in our future success... By following the world trends in renewable energy sources and watching the cities' needs, we have recognized the need for the development of smart solar products – explained Marija Mrvelj, as reported by the regional media.
