Serbia and China will sign the agreement on the cooperation on the “digital silk road” during the Belgrade visit of the Chinese president Xi Jinping, announced State Secretary at the Ministry of Trade, Tourism and Telecommunications Tatjana Matic.

The agreement will be signed by the Minister of Trade, Tourism and Telecommunications Rasim Ljajic on behalf of Serbia and the representative of the National Development and Reform Commission on behalf of China.

Matic said at the Chinese company Huawei’s presentation RoadShow 2016 that the agreement was of great importance for Serbia and added that she expected that it would create new possibilities of cooperation between Serbia and its partner of many years, China.

The agreement on the digital silk road between China and Serbia envisions the cooperation between the two countries in the areas of electronic trade, development of broadband internet, satellite services and new industries based on the information and communications technology (ICT).
