Assistant Minister of Economy Katarina Obradovic Jovanovic stated on Friday, June 10, that the preparation of a unified public registry of administrative procedures and other business conditions had begun, which would make things much easier for businessmen and enable the “killing of regulations”.

- We have started realizing the very ambitious project of listing all the procedures in which the business entities are addressing the state administration, whether it’s permits, consents, decisions or other documents – said Obradovic Jovanovic.

She added that their goal was to make the procedures easy to understand and create the basis for the cancellation of superfluous procedures.

Katarina Obradovic Jovanovic said at the Palace of Serbia, where the Report on the Enforcment of the Small Business Act for Europe in the Western Balkans and Turkey had been presented, that the Report gave the best rating to Serbia, followed by Turkey and Macedonia.

- The act represents the European policy on the development of the sector of small and medium enterprises (SME), and to a candidate state like Serbia, this is a most important document and it is our obligation to enforce it – pointed out the Assistant Minister.

The act has been enforced for many years and contains 10 guidelines as to what needs to be done in order for the business environment of SME to be favorable, and the biggest result will be made by carrying out activities within the Year of Entrepreneurship 2016 in Serbia.

Head of the EU Integration at the EU Delegation to Serbia Freek Janmaat stated that the EU has an accession policy which is based on the three priorities – rule of law, public sector reformation and economic reformation.

- The report gives good advice as to how to move forward, but also as regards the limitations. As well, based on it, we are making an estimate of how close to the European standards we are when it comes to small enterprises – said Janmaat.
