Djilas buys 20 hectares of land, plants apples and blueberries
As the newspaper writes, Djilas bought arable land worth around 50,000 EUR last year, and his investment may grow up to around half a million euros. He didn't want to comment on these findings with the explanantion that he comments on basketball exclusively after leaving politics. While still leading Belgrade and the DP, he stated numerous times that the future of Serbia lies in agriculture.
Allegedly, the ex-foreman of Serbia's capitol entered the fruit business together with Dusan Nikezic, former Secretary of State in the Ministry of Finance in the Government led by the DP.
In this way Djilas has joined the company of politicians which have tried their hand in fruit growing. It is well known that the President of Serbia Tomislav Nikolic owns more than 14 hectares of vineyards, orchards and pastures. The vice-president of the SPS Aleksandar Antic and the leader of the New Party Zoran Zivkovic are also into viticulture.
