Ryanair Airlines to Introduce Flights between Nis and Bratislava on October 31
Ryanair planes will fly the route twice a week, it was stated.
Tickets at the price of RSD 2,444 for flights in November will be available at the company’s website by midnight on Thursday, May 19.
Ryanair Manager David O’Brien said the company had chosen Bratislava as its new destination, to which it would fly from Nis, because he said this Slovak city was only an hour’s drive away from Vienna, a well-known fact being that the Serbian diaspora is the most numerous in Austria and Germany.
Ryanair keeps increasing the number of its passengers and airline routes, so that it currently transports 113 million passengers per year, flying to 200 airports in Europe, O’Brien said.
According to him, Ryanair plans to increase the number of passengers to 180 million per year by 2020, while the company management hopes to introduce new airline routes from Nis.
As of September 4, Ryanair will fly from Nis to Berlin, Germany, as well.
Nis Mayor Zoran Perisic said the airline route to Bratislava would be the fifth regular airline route from the Constantin the Great airport.
“With new Ryanair airline routes, we will almost certainly have 100,000 passengers per year, but we aim for the figure of 300,000 passengers,” Perisic said.
He also said that a rise in the number of passengers must be accompanied by the renovation of the airport and the strengthening of its incoming flight capacity.
