With nearly RSD 400 mln, Novi Sad will fund the construction of traffic routes and utility infrastructure in the North IV construction zone, the site of a production floor to be built for the US company Lear.

The contract on the works was signed just days after the city selected in a tender the companies that will build the RSD 2.5 bln production floor by November 1.

The works to build the traffic and utility infrastructure, worth precisely RSD 390,355,484 (VAT included), will be carried out by a consortium that is headed by Novi Sad-based Energotehnika-Južna Bačka and also includes Veternik-based Karin komerc, JKP Put, Horgoš-based Potisni vodovodi and Novi Sad-based AB & GO geosystems.

Interestingly, the deal does not involve strict deadlines for completion of the works, as opposed to other works.

As a reminder, Novi Sad has already set aside RSD 600 mln for backfilling in the North IV construction zone, with calculations indicating that the city will spend a total of over RSD 4 bln to build and arrange the production floor. The production floor will then be leased out to Lear for ten years.
