Foundation stone laying ceremony for first IKEA department store in Belgrade on April 14th
This company will invest EUR 70 million in the construction of department store that is expected to open in the summer 2017. The department store will have a surface area of over 30,000 square meters and employ 300 workers.
The main contractor is Austria's Strabag.
IKEA obtained a building permit for the first department store in Serbia in June 2015, and it signed a Memorandum of Understanding for cooperation with the Serbian Construction Ministry and the City of Belgrade in October 2014.
IKEA announced before that it was going to invest about EUR 300 million in the construction of five department stores in Serbia.
