Airport in Nis serves 15,000 passengers in Q1 2016
- Interest in the flights operates by Hungary's Wizz Air to Basel and Malmoe is huge, so the plane occupancy rate is constantly above 90% - Aerodrom Nis Spokesperson Ivanka Stanisavljevic told Beta news agency.
She reminded that thanks to the flights of that Hungarian low-cost carrier, the number of passengers served by Konstantin Veliki Airport in 2015 had hit a record high.
- Last year, the airport served 36, 258 passengers, thus beating a record of 35,518 from 2006 - said Stanisavljevic.
According to her, it is for certain that Wizz Air will continue to fly from Nis over the next 12 months as this company has already announced its flight timetable for the winter 2016/2017.
The Hungarian low-cost airline started operating flights from Konstantin Veliki Airport in June 2015, thus ending a 19-month break from regular air traffic in Nis.
