Fruit exports in 2015 bring USD 583 million to Serbia, imports valued at USD 201 million

Last year, Serbia exported 454,444 tonnes of various fruits worldwide and, thus, generated a total revenue of USD 583.40 million. In terms of quantity, the 2015 exports were 16% bigger than in 2014, when Serbia exported 391,930 tonnes of fruits and registered a revenue of USD 552.40 million.
The largest revenue in 2015 was generated from the exportation of raspberries, both fresh and frozen, because 100,233 tonnes exported ensured a revenue of USD 280.61 million.
Topping the list of buyers are companies from Germany, France, Belgium, Sweden, and Austria. Apple exports (178,414 tonnes exported to the Russian Federation) resulted in a revenue of USD 102.09 million, fresh and frozen sour cherries (26,539 tonnes exported to Germany, Russia and France) brought about a USD 31.42 million revenue, fresh and frozen strawberries (8,889 tonnes exported to Russia) - USD 16.35 million, and the exportation of 4,602 tonnes of cherries to Russia generated a revenue of USD 7.34 million.
On the other hand, our fruit importers spent less money in 2015 (USD 201.40 million for 282,984 tonnes) than in 2014 (USD 215.52 million for 249,376 tonnes).
