The Government of the Republic of Serbia has provided financial guarantees for the construction of water factory in Zrenjanin, Zrenjanin Mayor Cedomir Janjic said Tuesday.
He noted that conditions were thus created to resume the factory construction, adding that the contractor would continue its work in the shortest time possible.
Construction of the water factory in Zrenjanin was supposed to commence October 2015, when Petar Lalovic, a representative of the Italian company Gruppo Zilio, received a building permit from Mayor Cedomir Janjic for a facility to treat water from the city waterworks.
Janjic also underlined that there was not going to be delays any more, adding that the construction of that facility would finally solve a decades-long problem of drinking water supply to the city. By the way, the first pilot facility for treatment of Zrenjanin's water was built back in 1975.
The citizens of Zrenjanin have been waiting for this water treatment facility for as many as 12 years.
