February 2016 in Serbia sees deflation of 0,1%

In Serbia, in February this year, monthly deflation of 0.1 % was recorded i.e. which is how much, compared to January, retail prices of goods and services used for personal consumption were lower, according to the Republic Statistical Office .

As stated, consumer prices in February this year compared to the same month previous year increased by 1.5 %, while compared to December 2015 they increased by 0.5 %. Observed by main groups of products and services according to consumption purpose, in February 2016 compared to the previous month, decline in prices was recorded in clothing and footwear (2.4%), transport(1.2%)and recreation and culture(0.5%).

Price increase was recorded in food and non-alcoholic beverages (0.7 %), health and restaurants and hotels(0.2 %)as well as in alcoholic beverages and tobacco, communication and education(0.1 %. As stated, prices of other products and services did not change generally.
