RSD 16 billion for SME development in Serbia - 'Year of Entrepreneurship' project unveiled

The Serbian Chamber of Commerce (SCC) today hosted the presentation of "Year of Entrepreneurship" - the Government's activity plan for encouraging the entrepreneurial spirit. Serbian Economy Minister Zeljko Sertic said that the Serbian government set aside RSD 16.06 billion to support entrepreneurship.

Of that amount, as he noted, RSD 4.4 billion are grants.

Sertic also underlined that RSD 11.38 billion would be earmarked for loans and guarantees.

- Today we're launching 33 assistance programs which contains various forms of financial and non-financial activities - he said and pointed out that everything was explained in detail at the new web portal godinapreduzetnistva.rs.

SCC Chairman Marko Cadez stressed that the current Government was the first ever to give a priority to entrepreneurship in its economic policy.

He voiced his belief that Serbia can be a country of entrepreneurs, pointing to the significance of entrepreneurship for the economy sector.

Presentation of this project on the SCC premises was attended by a large number of ambassadors to Serbia, including German Ambassador Axel Dittmann, Italian Ambassador Giuseppe Manzo, French Ambassador Christine Moro, as well as representatives of professional associations.
