EBRD wants to invest in new projects in Serbia - Investment in wind farms and new public lighting technologies in the pipeline
He said in an interview with the latest edition of Balkan Green Energy News bulletin that the Bank provided technical support to numerous municipalities, voicing his hope that it would finance public lighting energy efficiency improvement projects in seven boroughs of Belgrade - Barajevo, Grocka, Lazarevac, Mladenovac, Obrenovac, Sopot and Surcin, among others.
According to him, this big project in the territory of Belgrade will cover the work on the improvement of energy efficiency of up to 65,000 street lamps by means of a new, more efficienty lighting technology.
As he noted, the Bank is highly committed to sustainable energy, which is why it is set as an investment priority across the entire region covered by the EBRD's operations.
Berg also voiced his expectation that a progress would be made in 2016 in the process of determining the framework for the purchase of power from renewable sources (power purchase agreement - PPA).
