Serbian Agriculture Minister Snezana Bogosavljevic-Boskovic said Wednesday that investments which should have been implemented in Serbia's agriculture by 2020 thanks to EU funds would reach a value of about EUR 400 million.

- It has been announced that agricultural manufacturers can apply for a grant of EUR 175 million. In addition to the money provided from EU funds, our farmers can also count on additional 25% through national co-funding, meaning they can have a total of EUR 230 million at their disposal - said Boskovic.

In her guest appearance on the Serbian national broadcasting corporation RTS, she explained that EUR 30 million from EU funds would be placed at the disposal of farmers in 2016, adding that in line with that programme, IPARD (Instrument for Pre-Accession Assistance in Rural Development), about 60% of costs would be refunded.

- That means that farmers too have to invest part of the money, and investments in agriculture on that basis alone are expected to reach about EUR 400 million by 2020 - said the minister.

As she noted, all registered agricultural farms and juristic persons can apply for IPARD grants in Serbia.
