Tomorrow to see Prokop welcoming passengers - The first stage of reconstruction of Belgrade-Center railway station ended
After 420 days of work, reconstruction stage of the Belgrade-center. As of Tuesday, January 26, Prokop again welcomes and dispatches pasengers. Tuesday will also see a new line – twice a day, trains will start to Novi Sad and reach this station which is the start of long-awaited relocation of railway traffic from the Main railway station.
Works on reconstruction of Prokop started December 3, 2014. They totaled EUR 25,8 m and they are provided from the loan of the Kuwait Fund for Arab economic development.
Completion of the this stage enabled railway traffic at the station on eight out of ten designed tracks as well as reception and dispatch of passengers from six platforms with al essential supplementary works.
Entire complex of Belgrade-Center railway station was designed as future city center with business premises, restaurants, cafes, shops. Plate at quota 105 has 45.000 m2.
