In 2016, Serbia will get a green fund for funding priority projects in environmental protection, the state secretary at the Ministry of agriculture and environmental protection, Stana Bozovic, said. At the presentation of the Overview of environmental situation in Serbia, she said that for achieving objectives in environmental protection it is necessary to have green budget fund.

Overview of the situation of environment of the Economic Commission UN for Europe shows what Serbia has done for environmental protection and the things it is yet to do in regulation domain, capacity and control.

Bozovic said she expects green fund in 2016 since laws referring to institutionalization of that budget fund at the Ministry of agriculture and environmental protection have been in process.

Bozovic said the priority of Serbia is water management since only six facilities in the country operates in line with EU standards as well as at the fact that for every liter of consumed water, one liter is wasted. The priority list then comprises waste management and then climate changes.
