Strategy required to increase exports to Russia
Due to Russia's sanctions against the European Union, and because of a crisis in the relations between Russia and Turkey which is a big exporter of meat, fruits and vegetables to the Russian Federation, our farmers now have an additional opportunity to export their products to Russia under privileged terms, SNP cited Popovic in a release as saying on his visit to Lazarevac.
He pointed out that "for as many as 15 years Serbia has had a free trade agreement with Russia like no other country in the world."
- Everything we produce in Serbia can be exported to Russia free of duties - he added and stressed that the agreement would provide a chance to boost exports because our products, given that they are not subject to duties, cost 15 to 20% less than competitive products from other countries in the Russian market.
He underlined that Serbia was not using enough the advantages of the free trade agreement with Russia, adding that it was therefore necessary to urgently adopt the Strategy for Economic Cooperation with Russia.
