Trade Center "NewNork" worth 9m EUR opened in Novi Sad

New trade center "NewNork" was opened yesterday (September 21, 2007) in the very center of Novi Sad. Building company "Aleksandar" invested 9m EUR in this facility.

TC "NewNork" was opened by the Manager of City Construction Institute, Igor Mirović. The Institute co-financed organization of square around department store and post office.

Ceremony started last night with the opening fountain in front of the renovated building, which was blessed by Irinej, the Bishop of Bačka.

- Former "Nork" (Novi Sad Department Store) was bought 2.5 years ago by Niš-based AIK banka, but its owned estimated themselves that it would be better if the building at the corner of Jevrejska Street and Mihajla Pupina Boulevard would keep its purpose. The facility was taken over by "Aleksandar" group, which built magnificient trade center in record time - Mirović pointed out at the press conference.

The owner of the company, Vojislav Gajić, has estimated that the investment will be paid off in some ten years, and the plan is that, after construction of "Aleksandar" hotel and "New Nork", apartment construction be continued, which is actually the main field of work of the company.

On the ground floor of the trade center is "Idea" supermarket, there are 31 boutiques on the higher floors, and there are also coffee shops, restaurants and galleries. The only thing that is left to be finished is the fourth floor where some kind of Disneyland will be opened by the end of the year.
