Radio Medvedja is the last media for which the auction was organized on Saturday at the Agency for privatization. Deadline for privatization of media owned by the state and local self-governances expires on Sunday and 15 media companies did not succeed in finding buyer. The Agency for privatization will as of Monday already start sending information on free shares distribution for employees.

Large media companies such as Tanjug or Novi Sad-based Dnevnik did not find buyers. Politika is an exception, since end of May 2016 was set as deadline. It will be known whether Tanjug also will become the property of employees through shares distribution when resource ministries provide because operations of Tanjug is governed with the special law.

Legal deadline where free shares should be distributed expires the last day in November, but since the deadline for sale was “flexible” it is possible deadline will extend.
