Sukhoi visiting Serbia - Government's Air Service and Air Serbia seen as prospective clients, Jat Tehnika as potential partner
Apart from Mr. Lavrov, the team of this Russian company also included sales representatives because the purpose of this visit was twofold - the company is seeking partners for its production and project process, while its sales team is constantly presenting their offer and looking for new clients.
In line with an initiative of the Serbian Investment and Export Promotion Agency (SIEPA), the delegation of Sukhoi used their first day in Serbia to visit Serbian aviation and industrial facilities, whereas the second day was planned to be dedicated to sales activities.
In addition to meetings with small private companies, this delegation also visited Jat Tehnika, Utva, the Serbian government's Air Service, and Air Serbia.
As several sources confirmed to Tango Six, Sukhoi is mostly interested in aircraft design services in Serbia (hiring of small private firms engaged in this type of activity), while sales activities were focused on the presentation of VIP version of the aircraft SSJ-100 to the Air Service of the Serbian government as well as on the efforts to persuade Air Serbia to base its hardware for its future development of regional routes on Sukhoi airplanes instead of its current fleet of propeller aircraft.
