Ski resort at Mount Divcibare for rent for RSD 1

The City Council of Valjevo has appointed a committee for the rental of Divcibare Ski Resort in line with the decision of the City Assembly to lease out this resort at a fee of RSD 1 for a period of 15 years, while all other investments in the ski run and equipment are to be financed by the leaseholder.

The ski run and the ski lift, which Skijalista Srbije donated to Valjevo, cost EUR 1.3 million five years ago. Now the Valjevo authorities claim their value has dropped to zero. This is what Assistant Mayor Milorad Ilic says, who also explains that court experts already appraised their value three times.

- We are practically renting out something that is worth nothing. The first two court experts noted in their report that given the age of the equipment, its life had expired and there was no economic benefit from it.

The city then hired the third court expert from Belgrade who appraised the value of land and everything else on it at EUR 361,000.

No skiing

Despite a solid amount of snow, the ski run and the ski laft were not in operation last winter because there was no leaseholder and the city was not ready to make necessary investments in the ski run and equipment at Mount Divcibare.
