Jagodina City Chairperson Dragan Markovic-Palma said today that the industrial zone in Jagodina, on Corridor X, was a sort of the Italian industrial center.
- Ten factories in one location cannot be found even in Italy. We've signed ten agreements with foreign investors, five factories are in operation and under construction, while one factory should be opened mid-October - Markovic said at the Faculty of Pedagogical Sciences in Jagodina.
This factory of the Italian company Vibac will be producing tapes of the latest technology in an industrial packaging, and it will be biggest factory build in Serbia in the past five years. The factory covers a surface area of 70,000 square meters, the investment is valued at EUR 70 million, and it will employ 400 workers.
- That is not the end. Construction of three more factories should commence by the year's end, and we already have certain arrangements to bring minimum four additional investors to Jagodina - he said.
- Jagodina has become the largest industrial center of Italy and it will be one of the biggest Italian industrial zones - Markovic concluded.
