Chinese willing to invest 20m EUR in Serbia - 20 Chinese businessmen in visit to Chamber of Commerce of Serbia

The group of 20 Chinese businessmen visited Chamber of Commerce of Serbia on August 3, 2007, where they expressed their willingness to invest up to 20m EUR in Serbia in the following period.

The Head of the delegation, President of the Center for National Situation Research within the Government of China, Liu Dji, pointed out that the Chinese were ready to bring their high technologies and invest their money in production, and that they wanted to use skilled and cheap manpower and semi-finished products in Serbia.

The Chinese are especially interested in projects in field of agriculture, civil engineering, banking, industrial parks, and they also expressed interest in taking part in privatization of our companies and asked for the list of companies that are about to be privatized.


So far, there has not been any Chinese investments in Serbia, but both sides expressed hope that such practice will now end. The representatives of the Export Promotion Agency, Privatization Agency and Free Zones Group informed guests on the benefits and advantages of investments in our country.
