Investment fund, ENIF, pours EUR 40 m in Serbia and region

New regional investment fund, ENIF will invest a total of EUR 40 m i.e. EUR500.000 to 3 m in separate startups in Serbia and region, "Startit" portal reports.

The plan is the funds are invested for for five years in companies from Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Albania, Macedonia and Montenegro and the first investment cycle will start this summer.

-A total of EUR 500.000 to 3 m will be poured per company but apart from that we will carry out a smaller number of seed investments of EUR 100.000 per company. The funds will invest in teams and companies which, based on local knowledge, have potential and ambition to grow and expand regionally or globally - Jan Kobler, a partner in a fund, says.

The fund comprises a number of different investors where the biggest one is the European Investment fund. Apart from that, there is also a large number of private investors and international financial instututions such as EBRD and ENIF. The Republic of Serbia also participate sin investments and investment board will decide on who will get the investment.

In the fall, Belgrade will see the opening of "Startit Centar", and ENIF will also be located in this space, "Startit" reports.
