Development of agriculture through EU funds - Budget for Serbian farmers EUR 175 m
From the European pre-accession fund for the support to agriculture, and village development,, IPARD 2, until 2020, Serbia will be able to use EUR 175 m. Assistant minister of agriculture, Dragan Mirkovic, says for RTS that the funds will help developed farmers to reach greater competitiveness and EU standard.
For Dnevnik RTS, Dragan Mirkovic reminded that January 20, EU officially adopted IPA program until 2020 and thus placed EUR 175 m to Serbia.
Mirkovic explains that the funds will be available for physical and legal entities, i.e. registered agricultural farms.
Mirkovic says good preparation will have to be done since supervision will be strong durin and after investment.
According to him, funds will be available primarily to developed farmers so that they would reach higher competitiveness.
He added that through national agricultural budget funds for those whoo are below minimum and who have to comply with IPARD, regadless of whether it is the number of hectares or animals, will be available.
As he says, it is important that agricultural departments and local self-governance are trained to provide users at the moment of public call release which will be next year already.
