Protocol signed on cooperation between economic regions in Sava's river basin
Yesterday (April 26, 2007), the representatives of the chambers of commerce of economic regions in the Sava's river basin signed the protocol on regional cooperation on the projects for development of economic relations, river transportation, equipping and construction of ports, environment protection and improvement of cross border collaboration.
The initiative was welcomed by the Ambassador of BiH to Belgrade, Tomislav Leko, the President of the Chamber of Commerce of Zagreb, Zlatan Prohlih, the President of the Regional Chamber of Commerce of Banja Luka, Nikola Tolimir, the Vice President of the Chamber of Commerce of Belgrade, Zoran Milošević, and other participants in the meeting.
The initiative for linking of economies in the Sava's river basin originates from year 2001, and its priority is new revival of the river traffic on the Sava and its admission into navigation system of the Danube corridor.
It is expected that the protocol will stimulate the development of the regional cooperation in Serbia, Croatia, BiH and Slovenia, and the financial support of the EU development funds can ben expected.
