Incomplete legal frame - main obstacle for development of ICT sector in Serbia
- Serbia should not long for development of large Internet and telecommunication industry, but for specialization for certain fields in which it has the advantage and tradition and it should gravitate toward development of brands - Austrian analyst Gerhard Wagner estimated.
At the final presentation of three-day regional "Broadband Conference" in Belgrade, Wagner said that the obstacles for development of ICT sector are incomplete legal frame and large gap between the unavailability of official information and availability of some secret data.
- The positive side of Serbian market is good demand for both electronic contents and products that can be easily sold online, although the prices of the desired products are mainly low - he pointed out, adding that that would change with the growth of incomes.
There were good predispositions for development of the video games market, said Wagner, backing his claim with the fact that the large number of young people pa even monthly fees of 50 EUR to play video games in Internet cafes.
The Conference was organized by company TNI, Chamber of Commerce of Serbia, Chamber of Commerce of Belgrade, Foreign Investors Council, Ministry of International EConomic Relations, Southeast Europe Stability Pact and American Chamber of Commerce (AMCHAM).
