Highway Section to Pakovrace 97% Complete – Opening by the End of January
While visiting the site, Drobnjak said that the highway couldn’t open for traffic before everything is done, including the fixing of certain asphalt deviations, expansion of breakdown lanes and drainage.
– Earth should be added by the wire fences, so that animals would not pass by there. A deviation should be done, and the temporary one should be removed. Breakdown lanes should be done, asphalt should be fixed and the part in the median strip should be rolled. Everything has to be stabilized. Of course, trench drains also need to be laid down, half of which is already done, the other half remaining. It takes ten days, and I will insist on it being finished. The weather needs to be good for us to open this for traffic as soon as possible. I’ll try to make it happen by the end of January, maybe even earlier – Drobnjak said.
A representative of the Chinese contractor CCCC, the project manager, Sho Ji Shang, is convinced that, with the additional workers joining the operations following the holidays, the job will be done on time.
– After the holiday season is over, we will be joined by the subcontractors as well, and with the higher number of workers, we should be able to finish the entire section in 15 days. We will intensify all the works – emphasized Ji Shang.
He added that, once completed, the road would be something that they, as the contractor, but also all the citizens of Serbia, can be proud of.
The highway section from Preljina to Pakovrace is around 12 kilometers long.
