The UNICEF Innovation Fund intends to invest up to USD 100,000 in tech startups which use machine learning, data science or artificial intelligence, the press release says. The company needs to be registered in one of the countries included in the UNICEF programs and to have a functional prototype with an open code or be willing to enable access to the code.
With said technologies, there are also three fields that this program focuses on. The first one is the creation of platforms for personalized services, or tools for the automation of processes and decision-making. The second one consists of tools which optimize system performance in order to ensure better availability and realization of services, as well as gaining new insight from the available data with the help of data science, machine learning or artificial intelligence. The collection and processing of data comprise the third field.
The applications, terms and additional information can be found on
the fund’s website. Applications are open until August 2, 2021.
