A total of RSD 17.6 billion has been set aside from the budget of the Ministry of Economy for economy incentives in 2021, the ministry says and adds that the majority of the sector’s budget is directed at programs of support to the economy for new investments which will continue having a positive impact on the GDP growth.

The Ministry of Economy specifies for Tanjug that the support continues in three directions: toward large investments, development of entrepreneurship and improvement of business infrastructure.

Of the total amount of RSD 17.6 billion, two billion is meant for programs of support to the sector of small and medium enterprises and entrepreneurship.

Of these two billion, they further specify, RSD 1.55 billion is meant for the Program of Support to SMEs for the Procurement of Equipment, and RSD 200 million is meant for the Program of Inciting Entrepreneurship through Development Projects.

They add that RSD 150 million is meant for the Program of Inciting the Development of Entrepreneurship through Financial Support to Beginners in Business, whereas RSD 100 million is meant for the Program of Inciting the Development of Entrepreneurship through Financial Support to Women and the Young.

The Ministry of Economy notes that a special program of inciting the development of entrepreneurship meant for two very important target groups – women and the young – is being launched this year.

They explain that the programs will combine grants of up to 45% of the value of the project and very favorable credits from the Development Fund and commercial banks.

Also, a new set of services of free professional support to these target groups will be piloted through the network of regional development agencies, featuring training courses, support in preparing apps for the new program, support in founding business entities and several months of mentoring.
