The Serbian Ministry of the Economy today invited banks and leasing companies to apply to participate in a programme of support to small businesses for the purchase of equipment in 2017.
A sum of 567.7 million dinars is earmarked for this programme whose goal is strengthening the competitiveness of companies, business improvement and internationalization and the creation of new jobs through investment in equipment.
Under this programme the Ministry will award grants to micro-enterprises, small businesses, entrepreneurs and cooperatives for financing and purchasing production equipment and machinery to enhance their competitiveness.
The Ministry is implementing this programme in cooperation with the Development Agency of Serbia and selected commercial banks and leasing companies. Companies are eligible for co-financing of up to 25% of the net purchase price of production equipment.
The company must participate with 5% of the net value, while the remaining 70% will be provided by commercial bank loans or financial leasing by companies helping implement the program.
An approved grant amounting to 25% of the net value of production equipment may not be less than RSD 250,000 or more than RSD 2.5 million.
Within two years of the day of signing the contract with the Development Agency, the beneficiary may not dispose of the equipment, which will be controlled by the banks, leasing companies and the Development Agency, which report to the Ministry.
After selecting the commercial banks and leasing companies the Ministry will announce a public call for grants.
