Did you know there was a Belgrade Mummy?

On December 26, beginning at noon, a guided tour will be organized for visitors curious to see the Belgrade Mummy, a mummy of a priest called Nesmin form the archeological collection of the Faculty of Philosophy. The previous guided tour was organized on December 8.

The Tourism Organization of Belgrade announces that the visitors will be able to learn more about the cult of the dead, the mummification, the history and culture of Egypt’s Ptolemaic period, where the mummy originates from, and Hadzi Pavle Ridjicki, a nobleman, benefactor and world traveler who bought the mummy in Egypt in 1888 and gifted it to the National Museum.
