A cigar box from the personal collection of former Cuban president Fidel Castro was sold at an auction in Boston for USD 26,950.

The wooden box features Castro's signature, written in blue felt tip, and is accompanied by a photograph of Castro signing it for philanthropist Dr Eva Haller in 2002.

The Trinidad Fundadores box contains 24 cigars and is stamped on each end.

This producer made cigars for Castro exclusively from 1980 till 1998 and their products could leave Cuba only as a gift to a foreign official.
