"Mercator" shopping center opened in Niš - jobs for 500 workers

"Mercator" shopping center, of which construction lasted for nine months, was opened yesterday (March 20, 2008) in Niš. Total value of the investment is 23.5m EUR and total surface of the facility is 3,200 square meters. This facility will provide jobs for about 500 people.

The guests at the celebration were welcomed by the CEO of "Mercator" for Serbia, Stanka Čurović, who said that that Slovenian company had come to Niš to mind its own business, and not to deal with politics.

This facility includes hypermarket "Mercator" and all related contents, as well as another 54 rented outlets. Čurović said that over 70% of food and consumer goods in "Mercator" hypermarket were made in Serbia.

Ambassador of Slovenia to Serbia, Miroslav Luci, was present at the celebration.
