He infinitely believes in power of hard work and not giving up, evenwhen it is the most difficult, because he believes that only then results are there.Growing up in a "technical" family, he has always been interested inproduction process, transmission and distribution of electricity and energy aswell as and character and work of Nikola Tesla contributed to his choice of acall.

He is proud of his family and friends, andstay and work in France were a turning point in his life. The life and businessstory of Dejan Markovic, new head of Schneider Electric in Serbia andMontenegro tells that everything in life happens with a reason.

Markovic was born in 1975 in Pristinawhere he grew up studied and started hisprofessional career. After known events in the spring 1999 he moved with thefamily to Belgrade. He grew up in a "technical" family, where inaddition to his father, a graduate electrical engineers, other family memberswere related to technique. In such an environment, mathematics and physics werethe main subjects to which, as he says, " focused from an early age."

- Due to the fact that I finished naturaland mathematics department at the grammar school, I did not have dilemmas when enrollingfaculty. I have always dreamt that I do innovative work, which in the end cametrue - Dejan Markovic says at the beginning of the interview for eKapija.

He began his career as an intern at the ElectricPower Industry of Serbia, Power Plant Kosovo B. Although the first earnedsalaries is something that everyone are fond of and which they always remember, he said thatunfortunately, that the environment wherehe began his career and his first paycheck was not the happiest, since the war,and his departure from Kosovo and Metohija, left a bitter taste in the mouth.

Hecontinued his business path in PC Elektroistok Izgradnja, i.e. Elektromreza Srbije today.

Arrival to SchneiderElectric

- Since 2006 I have worked atSchneider Electric where I managed various projects in Serbia, as well as inFrance. After returning from Grenoble, I took over projectin the field of oil and gas,and electricity production in the context of the company`s business in theterritory of Serbia and Montenegro. Since November 2010 I am a member of the company management, first as head of the low-voltagedistribution department and since August 2012 as head of the energy sector.

He wasappointed at the position of managing director at Schneider Electric Serbia in February this year, to which, he says, he islooking forward, despite the fact that he knows that such an important positionbrings a series of challenges and a great responsibility, considering currentleading position of the company in the field of energy management andautomation.

French spirit in Serbia

He gained a part of his business experience in France,the country of Schneider Electric.

- Franceis a highly developed country in all segments of the economy and society. Wehave a lot of work and sacrifice to make on the road to achieving the standardsof the French development. On the other hand, Schneider Electric as the Frenchcompany in Serbia transfers a part of values to the local market. We employmore than 1,000 people and strive to constantly work on their progress. Theyresponded by working daily on development of smart networks, and the fact thatapplications our people developed are integrated in France, Italy, Spain, theScandinavian countries, etc. Of course, I`m talking about young engineersworking in the branch of our company - DMS, which is located in Novi Sad.

When helooks back, he says that stay and work in France was a turning point in hislife.

Life values

Openness and directness are quality he appreciates with his associates most. Apart from that, fair and honest attitude towards business and associates is something, he says, makes a team and an individual stronger .He is proud of his family and friends. He says he sees each their success as his own.
And when he closes the door to the office...He spends most of his spare time with the loved ones, family and friends, in nature or traveling. He is a sports fans so he practices various recreational sports activities and likes reading a good book.
