The company Haitian Machinery will build a factory complex for the production of industrial injection machines and cutting and casting machines in Ruma. The complex is planned in the business zone Rumska Petlja, on a parcel of around 250,000 m2, and the production of a total of 250 machines a year is planned, as can be seen from the preliminary design of the project, prepared by the Belgrade-based company Masinoprojekt Kopring.

The owner of the company, which was registered in Ruma in April last year, is the Chinese Haitian Plastics Machinery Group, which signed an agreement on the sale of the land with the municipality last summer.

This Chinese group, the biggest world producer of machines for injection under pressure, announced that it would invest USD 100 million in the factory and that it would bring four industries to Ruma – the production of machines for injection, CNC machines, machines for casting under pressure and automation.

Their aim is to reach the production capacity of 2,500 machines for injection, as reported by the website of the Municipality of Ruma. The company has now submitted the request for deciding on the necessity of the environmental impact assessment of the project, which is up for public inspection at the Municipality of Ruma from yesterday until February 6.

The production program of the industrial complex Haitian in Ruma, the project says, will consist of industrial injection machines and cutting machines (VMC machines), and the planned annual production capacity is 160 machines for plastic injection, 60 CNC cutting machines and 30 machines for the production of cast elements.

Metal profiles and metal castings will be used as the raw material.

The workers will work in two shifts of 8 hours each, at facilities with a total gross area of 68,000 m2.

The construction of a production hall, a head office building, but also a center for the recreation of the employees with a restaurant, sports courts and a fountain, is planned as well.

The complex will also have a facility for the treatment of technological waste waters, as well as waste, chemicals and oil storage facilities.

Around 297 parking spaces are also planned, as is the construction of internal traffic routes.

This investment has been estimated as the biggest one in Ruma in the past three decades. As the president of the Municipality of Ruma, Aleksandra Ciric, said during the signing of the agreement, the Chinese company will employ around 300 workers, with a projected average salary of EUR 650 to over EUR 1,000, and the opening of the factory will also be an opportunity for local suppliers, considering that complex machines with plenty of parts will be produced in Ruma.

The CEO of Haitian International, Sun Yiming, stated that the aim of the investment was to establish a new production base with good connections with the Port of Rijeka and a highway to Europe, from which they can get their machinery to the markets of Europe, Russia, Turkey, Middle East, India, and even the United States of America.
