Stellantis Appoints Jovica Jovanovic New Director of Kragujevac Factory
Jovanovic is coming back to manage the factory’s operations, having acquired a successful international experience, first as Head of General Assembly Process Engineering and then as Head of Press Shops and Dies for the Enlarged Europe region. He will lead the factory in Kragujevac and be in charge of the overall industrial presence of Stellantis in Serbia on its path to a new sustainable future, the press release says.
It is added that Stellantis’ announcement confirms that Serbia and its factory in Kragujevac will play a key role in the company’s strategic plan “Dare Forward 2030”, which is in effect since yesterday.
Silvia Vernetti, CEO of Stellantis’ daughter company FCA Serbia and Head of Global Corporate Office at Stellantis, reminded that, on April 28, Stellantis announced that it would install a new electric platform in Kragujevac for the production of compact vehicles and added that it would happen starting from mid-2024.
The new compact car, whose name is yet to be announced, will be produced at the factory in Kragujevac, succeeding the current production of the Fiat 500L model. The factory can also be configured to support potential additional quantities of another vehicle, based on a continuous improvement of performances.
The press release also says that, as soon as 2022, activities toward establishing the production line for the new platform will commence.
