Embassy of Denmark New Purchaser of Green Energy from EPS
The agreement was signed by the executive director for the production of energy at EPS, Savo Bezmarevic, and the Danish ambassador to Belgrade, Susanne Shine.
Bezmarevic said that the ZelEPS green energy package, meant for commercial buyers, proved to be very popular among clients and that, in its two and a half years of existence, even in the conditions of the pandemic, the sale of green energy with a guarantee of origin had been agreed with 70 purchasers.
– The sold green energy with a guarantee of origin in 2020 was 10 times higher than in 2019, and this year we have continued growing, with around 650 million kilowatt-hours contracted at the moment. The success of this green direction is also shown by the fact that, in the past three months alone, we contracted the sale of 150 million kilowatt-hours more than in the first half of the year – he said.
Danish Ambassador Susanne Shine pointed out that green agenda was at the top of Danish priorities, and that this was also true of the Danish foreign ministry and the diplomatic representations throughout the world, which follow the green principles.
– The embassy in Belgrade has joined this as well. We separate waste, we have introduced a composter, we are trying to use as little plastic as possible and we are now switching to green energy, thanks to our cooperation with EPS – Shine said and added that she hoped that other embassies and other people would follow that path as well.
