The minister of construction, transport and infrastructure of Serbia, Tomislav Momirovic, and the president of the municipality of Obrenovac, Miroslav Cuckovic, pointed out yesterday, while opening the works on the construction of utility structure within the “Cista Srbija” (“Clean Serbia”) project, that the citizens of Obrenovac and its area would get close to 100 kilometers of an entirely new sewer and two waste water treatment facilities.

A total of 98,390 meters of a sewer system will be built in the municipality of Obrenovac, as well as two waste water treatment facilities in Obrenovac and Ratari, which will cover a populace of 51,000, according to the announcement published on the website of Government of Serbia.

From 1965 until today, when the construction of new utility infrastructure is beginning, close to 110 kilometers of a sewer system was built in Obrenovac.

– We are investing EUR 54 million in order to build a sewer infrastructure of a greater scope than what was built in the preceding 50 years, and not just that, but we will also bring back the roads that we have dug through in order to set up the infrastructure to a state that is much better than the current one – Momirovic said.
